Default The Problem with Skills and Chapters

Not many people seem to think that this is going to be an issue but untreated it could mean the end of the game.

Someone on another totaly unrelated thread compared the fact that dual "same Skill" (chapter 1 and 2 ) weilding builds like touch Ra/Ne could fast become stupidly powerfull with chapter 3. They compared it to using 20 Mountains and 40 Lightning Strikes in a MTG deck and this i assure you is NOT a good thing.

I fail to see what A-nets Long/Medium term plan is to be for skill management, all I see is one big wall coming up fast.
(There is another thread about standardization of skill descriptions as well...another long term skill related problem)

Not to want to change GW into MTG (its NOT) but there are certain solutions that MTG has had the time to apply and test which work. And since GW has already adapted their marketing strategy: buy new chapters to remain competitive (which I deplore because ...well "Guild Wallet" anyone?) they might as well use those as well.

For example: - Different formats (which could work every 3 or 4 chapters...but the more I think about it the bigger the migraine).

OR (this I came up with) LINKING. Certain skills could be "linked" to others meaning that they would behave as if they were Elites (but not really) on the skill bar, i.e.: one per skill bar.
You could even work out some kind of Graduated Link skill set where more than one of these skills could be placed on the skill bar (basically skills that do the same thing but have different names/chapter origins) but would be limited to a certain number.

I know this sounds complicated and really heavy but the important thing is to give the game devs a LOGICAL TOOL that they could use to sort it out (as they already have the software...duh)

Client side it needs to be Simple and Instinctive, i.e.:

-Gamers would need some hind of method to find out which skills were linked to what.
I’d suggest a "branching" on the skill sheet when you click on a skill “link button” showing which ones are linked.
A number/color code to show if you would be allowed more than one on skill bar.

From what I understand there will be 2 new chapters per year. That’s a LOT of skills. Standardization of skill text and skill management is essential else we and the game devs will soon find ourselves totally swamped and discouraged from GW.

Sorry if this is a bit long and clunky but its been on my mind since day one (old MTG player) and i'd originally wrote this as an answer to the "is Nightfall worth buying" post...and realised that i did'nt really care if that person bought it or not.

I just want this to be sorted....and storage, char customisation etc etc but there are threads for those allready.

please. on topic.
